EMP Reveals Ambitious Release “Tryst Issues”

Alex, Maxx, and Nathan kicked off their music journey, starting with some punk and heavy metal vibes. Nathan, though, stuck to his guns with a degree in music, rocking out on the upright bass while harboring a soft spot for Rock ‘n’ Roll. Despite their different paths, they all kinda felt out of sync with their music scenes, and that fueled their mission to break free from the norm.

Fast forward to today, and we’ve got the Texas trio, EMP, with Alex Erhardt, Nathan Mays, and Maxx Salazar. These guys aren’t your typical band—they’re instrumental maximalists. They’re like a mixtape of progressive rock, jazz, post-punk, and electronic music. EMP’s all about that collision of rhythms, boundless energy, chill vibes, and a burning curiosity for the unknown. Oh, and they brought a vibraphone to the party—because why not? It’s like they’re saying, “You bring a knife, we bring a vibraphone, and we win every time.” Mixing vintage sounds with their own wild musical style, they’ve created a language all their own.

But let’s rewind a bit. Back in the day, Alex and Maxx were rocking the punk and metal scenes, and Nathan was doing his thing with the upright bass. It’s this cool clash of gritty rebellion and disciplined commitment that shapes EMP’s unique sound. That tension between the raw roots and the upright bass vibes creates this awesome energy that propels their musical experimentation. And guess what? EMP isn’t about fitting into a box. They’re all about breaking the mold, pushing boundaries, and just doing their own thing. So, as they keep challenging the norms and making music that’s all their own, EMP stands as a reminder that breaking free can lead to some seriously awesome tunes.
